{"id":5812,"date":"2023-12-14T11:09:59","date_gmt":"2023-12-14T10:09:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oxfordlecce.it\/?p=5812"},"modified":"2023-12-14T11:09:59","modified_gmt":"2023-12-14T10:09:59","slug":"a-day-with-cambridge-seminario-per-i-docenti-international-house-oxford-group-lecce-cambridge-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ihoxfordlecce.it\/en_gb\/2023\/12\/14\/a-day-with-cambridge-seminario-per-i-docenti-international-house-oxford-group-lecce-cambridge-university\/","title":{"rendered":"A day with Cambridge, an in-service teacher training seminar under the auspices of International House Oxford Group Lecce and Cambridge English"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>\u201cA Day with Cambridge\u201d<\/strong> it is among the seminars organised by<strong> Cambridge English<\/strong> to enable teachers to stay up-to-date and interact with internationally renowned experts from Cambridge. .<br \/>\n<strong>International House Oxford Group Lecce<\/strong> organised the event at the Grand Hotel Tiziano e dei congressi in Lecce last <strong>12th December<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Cambridge English seminars provide valuable information, tips for improving student engagement, and professional development for teachers.<\/p>\n<p>Each workshop is presented by a Cambridge English professional, who you can ask questions of in dedicated Q&amp;A sessions.<\/p>\n<h4>The works<\/h4>\n<p>After the greetings from the managing director of IH Oxford Group Lecce, <strong>Emanuele Sponsiello<\/strong>, appeared via an online link <strong>Emma Holey<\/strong>, managing director of the International House World Organisation, the worldwide organisation of language schools to which Oxford Lecce belongs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oxfordlecce.it\/oxford-group-lecce-international-house-unica-sede-puglia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">affiliated for 2 years already<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Following this, the interesting talk by the teacher trainer from Cambridge University, <strong>Claire Ross<\/strong>. The workshop focused on supporting teachers to combine ongoing informal assessment with more formal language and skills testing. The aim was to create a detailed picture of students' experiences. There was also a focus on self-assessment and self-reflection as tools for growth, which include learning to correctly interpret and utilise feedback from the students themselves.<\/p>\n<p>To close \n<\/div>\n\n<p>There was a large turnout at the event, which saw the registration of <strong>over 150 teachers<\/strong> who found themselves in the Tiziano Room of the Grand Hotel in Lecce.<\/p>\n<h4>The final surprise<\/h4>\n<p>At the end of the meeting, a big surprise for the participants: <strong>two young pupils from the International Montessori School \u201cInternational House Oxford Group Lecce\u201d<\/strong>, in class V of Primary School, drew 3 names from a compass among the teachers present: everyone had their badge, assigned at the entrance to the hall with their first and last name, collected. <strong>3 online courses up for grabs<\/strong> organised by IH Oxford Lecce.<br \/>\nGreat was everyone's surprise and especially the winners' satisfaction.<\/p>\n<h4>A social event!<\/h4>\n<p>many have, ultimately, left their smile inside the <strong>Instagram frame<\/strong> prepared for the event and which will feature participants' faces on the school's social media pages. .<\/p>\n<p>In the coming days, attending teachers will receive the certificate via the email used for registration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was very nice to first receive the teachers\u2019 approval for the workshop content, and then for the final surprise,\" explained the <strong>Director IH Oxford Lecce Emanuele Sponsiello<\/strong> \u2013 we have received a lot of positive feedback which tells us that teacher training is a priority, and our school has understood this well. In our project, the focus is precisely on schools that increasingly ask us to support them in enhancing students\u201d skills.
