Learning in progress
Learning in Progress is the bilingualism project introduced into the plan of’Training offer at the Oxford Group from 2006.
The project aims to update and Enhancement of English language teaching, with particular regard to:
- Programming and teaching methodology
- Learning situation modes
- University of Cambridge exam difficulty level
- Textbooks
Registrations
All pupils who have passed or have been deemed suitable for the first year of Lower Secondary School may be enrolled in that year.
The application for admission must be submitted through the primary school attended, no later than the deadline communicated by the Ministry of Public Education for the new academic year.
Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking
For all classes, to supplement the programme, singing and reading activities are planned. English narrative texts.
The 7 full immersions due to be held during the academic year with a specially designed programme, which will cover disciplinary, current affairs, and Anglo-American culture and civilisation topics. The Learning in progress project is entrusted to the subject teacher and the’Native teacher and provides for the use of ever more up-to-date teaching tools, suitable for bilingual students and regularly used in International schools. All disciplines make use of Multimedia instrumentation for carrying out teaching activities.
Cambridge International School
Continuing from primary school, pupils undertake the study of English (L1), Mathematics and Geometry, Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, ICT, and Global Perspectives in English according to the Cambridge International Curriculum of the University of Cambridge.
The Cambridge pathway includes the presence of a native English-speaking teacher for Mathematics and Science. Furthermore, within the Physical Education curriculum, there are modules of sports disciplines in English, delivered in the presence of a native speaker expert.
Giving children a head start in English
During the course of study, pupils are offered the opportunity to take the Cambridge ESOL exams to assess and certify the level of English learned.
